Run For The Cob

Run For The Cob August 6th, 2016

The "Run for the Cob" is held the first weekend of August in conjunction with Estherville, IA Sweet Corn Daze! The race is put on and benefits the Estherville Lincoln Central and Iowa Lakes Community College Cross Country Programs. Thank you for your support!

1 Mile Fun Run: 7:45 AM
10K Race: 8:15 AM
5K Race: 8:30 AM

Registration and Check-in

Packet pick-up and late registration for all participants, in all races, will take place on Friday, July 31st from 4:00-6:00 PM at the Estherville Public Library, Community Room (7th St & Central Ave).

If needed, you may pick up your packet on Saturday morning, before 8:00 am at the library.

*T-Shirt only guaranteed on pre-registered by July 23rd.

*After July 23rd T-Shirt sizes will not be collected. There will be a selection of T-Shirts available to Late and Same-Day Registrants on a first come - first serve basis

Course Information

Start and Finish

All races start on the corner of 2nd Ave & N 6th St and finish in Library Square.

Course Description

5K - Mostly flat and some downhill, includes ¾ mile of gravel - very fast!!! The course will be run partially in town and partially on the west outskirts of town.

10K - Slightly hilly. Both gravel and pavement.

Age Groups and Awards

Awards will be distributed at the finish line, tentatively at 9:30 AM:

1 Mile

13 & Under - Top Male and Female will Receive an Award and Medal

All 1 Mile Fun Run Participants Will Receive a Ribbon!

5K and 10K

13 and under | 14-19 | 20-29 | 30-39 | 40-49 | 50-59 | 60 and Over

Awards will be given to the Overall Male and Female Winners and Top 2 in Each Age Group

TIMING & RESULTS

The Run For The Cob will be Chip Timed by Race Place Chip Timing. Results will be updated throughout the race and can be viewed immediately after crossing the finish line on tablet kiosks and a scrolling results screen. Results will also be available on the Free "Its Your Race" App.
